Schools' Uniforms By Yussef Khateeb

School Uniforms
School uniforms have many advantages and disadvantages. It depends on what people think about it. They have their own point of view; therefore, we have many different opinions. Some people think that uniforms are not really for students because it prevents them from expressing themselves. It can make them uncomfortable. Wearing school uniforms is good because it distinguishes students from other people.
First of all, school uniforms help students be distinct from other people. We can identify who are students or not at school or even outside it if they are wearing uniforms. Moreover, students who are wearing uniforms can help many people. For instance, they have many discounts or benefits from others.
Second, school uniforms make students feel equal. The worst thing could happen at school is that if you identify who are the rich students and who are not, you will treat them different. Though you didn’t realize that! Then poor students who know your unkind behaviors may feel uncomfortable, miserable and disappointed. But if students required to wear school uniforms, you won’t recognize who is rich and who is poor. Everybody will give them opportunities equally.
Finally, school uniforms also make students proud of their school. For example, if there is a meeting and they require to connect with students from many different schools, wearing school uniforms help students more confident, and they participate in activities with high efforts to demonstrate their school is good. Furthermore, students who are wearing school uniforms also feel proud of their school.
In conclusion, uniforms do not only help students to be distinct from other people, to be more beautiful, but also to make them feel equal to other students. Therefore, in my opinion, I think school uniforms should be required.

An Article About Family Values by Rafah Khateeb

Family: The Spring of Values
As society becomes more technologically advanced, families are forgetting their values. Our family values help us shape our personalities, and losing them doesn’t only make us arid, but deteriorates our communities sharply. These values are moral, recreational, and working values. Abiding them will effortless make the connections between family members stronger.
Families should definitely have moral values, in light of fact that they provide the foundation from which you make decisions. These can be expressed by honesty, being patient, and trustworthy. Those create profound feelings that will never break.
Never mess up with recreational values, because they do a great impact in fortressing closeness and creating memories. They also improve social skills, so take vacations together, encourage each other, and every once in a while, make some hot chocolate, and play a board game in a quiet dreamy night, all together.
By definition, working values are those meant with socializing and getting used to the jobs given through work and school, accomplish this point by cooperating together-even when doing easy tasks. Plus, helping your family members when they’re in need, meets the point.
Sitting down as a family and setting values can seem daunting, but you’ll never realize its importance until you do it, it will positively reflect morally, recreationally, and work-wise. Finally; most importantly, never forget to always love your family, and keep in mind how much they mean to you. <3

Schools' Uniforms
Are you with wearing uniforms to school? I think wearing uniforms is great. School uniforms are good for some students and bad for others.

The good things about wearing uniforms are: making all students the same, students won’t have problems picking clothes, shows what school we belong to, and if you go to a school trip teacher won’t have problems finding us.

The bad thing about wearing uniforms are: if the uniform is in the laundry you will get in trouble, and big students won’t feel that they are better than the younger students because they are wearing the same.

I am with wearing uniforms. I wish that students that think that wearing a uniform is a bad idea will change his/ her mind.

Students' Rights by Mariam Nassereddin

 Students' Rights
Do you know that every person has rights? As a student I conclude that I have to call for my rights. Students have a lot of rights but I classified the important rights into two: “School Rights" and "Home Rights".
On the first hand, "School Rights" for example we need a good teaching, to make our teaching god we need genius teachers, books that are full with important information. Also, we need school supplies, like: pencils, pens, eraser and correction pens.
Maybe we can classify Subjects into 2:"Main Subjects" and "Science Subject”. So "Main Subjects" are English and Arabic languages, while "Science Subjects" are Biology, Chemistry and Physics. There are a lot of schools that don't have all of these subjects. Although we want to learn in a Safe Place.
On the other hand, "Home Rights" example friends, I need my friends to stand to my side, maybe when someone bullies me, they can help. Friends light my way when I'm in darkness. Even they can help you when your family is on your opposite side. Families are one of the important students’ rights because there are a lot of student that have families that do not care, mostly when they have a young sibling, when parents do that their kids will feel lonely and sad. Sometimes their friend can help them, and let them forget while who don't have friends will be influenced on the kids.
On day students are going to grow up and they need these rights maybe that will help them in the future to complete a hood life, maybe they will learn from the last time they call for their rights, if they don't call for their rights now they will never call for it anymore.

Family Values by Rana Debian

Family Values

When raising a child, one is taught values by their families that they feel are important for their child to have. I believe that family values consist of certain actions and qualities that are important to a family to uphold. Values that are important in my family are honesty, and to have respect for others. Each of these qualities are equally important in my life. They played a big role into making me the person I am now.

Growing up in a family taught me that honesty is the best policy. When I would get into trouble as a child I would often try to lie to lie to my mom thinking that would save me from being punished. I soon learned that lying would only get me into more trouble than I was already. Honesty had made my family gain my trust.

Respect is an important value to be taught when growing up. Through the years, I had learned that in order to learn anything you must have respect for others. I have learned many valuable lessons from listening to my grandmother. She has told me many of her experiences, which has made me a better person. Having respect for people has allowed me to be more open minded and see qualities in people that most would not.

All values that families instill in their children are important. It would show the strength of the family and for sure makes it a ruled family. Which is good because their children would teach their family in the future what they have learned.

The Pollution of Litanni River By Mouath Laban

A New Experience! BY Sarah Salla

“Students do not need a perfect teacher to teach them. They need a teacher who gets them excited about learning. A teacher who smiles and makes coming to school enjoyable.”
Recently a new teacher resigned. Upon her decision, I took over two of her English Classes.
When I first walked into the class, all the students started clapping and had a request: “Don’t start the period with saying, “Open your books page.....” they said. I smiled and said put the books away. I don’t need them now. I added I would like to know each and every one of you. Also it would be great If we could have a little agreement all together.

When it was time to build our little agreement, I suggested that they speak without asking for permission. “We are just chatting.” One girl said from the front row. I repeated her words with a smile. Some points in our written agreement were:
1. We deserve to have breaks and enjoy educational games.
2. Support us if at any time the administration punishes us.
3. Don't throw a lot of homework and assignments at us.
4. Consider our needs and questions.
5. Repeat in different ways and methods.
6.Embed projects related to our everyday life and interests.
7. Speak English.
8. Treat us equally.
9. Try your best in class and home.
10. Listen to each other.

After writing our little agreement, we added our signatures. Every time I would form my sentences using their answers, they would smile. Every time I'd say:” Tell me more.” or ask them: “How does that make you feel?” they would get even more engaged.
I realized that all they asked for are simply their rights. They have the right to be heard and noticed. It’s their right to learn the way they prefer. No one can take away their right to be accepted and loved for all they can do and cannot do…..

Then I asked a volunteer to facilitate an educational game (responding to one of their requests) before we start with run on sentences in their books.
Ahmad an active boy was my volunteer. He gave us instructions and we happily followed his instructions. When applying reviewing actively (a principle from FIRST framework) we came across a lot of lessons:
1.    Trust and honesty are very important in a relationship.
2.    Simple instructions are the base of any activity or event.
My students were willing to open their grammar books and in pairs they identified run on sentences and fixed them.
Our first day was a success and every minute was full of reflections and learning.
To Rawafid administrators, I am grateful for all the support and guidance you have showered on the staff and me.
To SeGa (who added a lot to many experience) I would like to say: “FIRST framework is a common need for every learner. I couldn’t have facilitated these sessions without the 15 principles. Thank you SeGa for all the active deep experiences.
Last but not least to my students I say:” Today, tomorrow and always I will always    have your side and together we will learn, make mistakes and reflect.

The First Time I Taught! by Zainab Abu Mrad

"The struggle you're in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow". After teaching three full sessions, I realized how tough this profession is. At first, I thought it is an easy profession, and everything I need is just a well-organized lesson plan. When I stood in front of the students to explain a lesson, I completely changed my mind!
In general, my teachings were good, and I did a good job😅. As a new teacher, my sessions were made up of effective and ineffective practices. In the first session, I introduced myself to the students, so they can interact with me. The students were excited because I am new. My lesson plan was well organized, but it didn't fit the offered time! I used one point of reference which was the board; that reference grabbed students' attention. Also, I asked the students to read all together; reading aloud was a good practice because the students learned from each other (pronunciation), and they felt comfortable (their mistakes weren't noticed).
A day before, I gave the students a dictation (Spelling). In the classroom, I allowed them to copy the paragraph; I gave them chance to review the spelling of the words. I used a clear voice, and I walked between the tables to check if the students were on track. That practice supported the students I was teaching, made them feel comfortable, and gave them a good chance to hear the words clearly.
My second teaching session was good; most of the practices were good. I worked on the students to make them independent, engaged, and active learners. I distributed an activity and used some practice activities that helped the students recognize the sequence of the events in a story.
My last teaching session was the best one! I was moving in the class easily, and I explained the lesson in a good way. Most of the practices were also effective.
In the first two sessions, I was somehow nervous, but my pleasure in teaching made me strong enough to overcome the obstacles and succeed in teaching domain. I'm really proud of myself. Every year I improve my language skills and my teaching skills too. Always there is something new to be learned as a teacher!
In short, I shared my experience and how some effective practices motivated me to work and give more!
